About me

My Journey

I have always been passionate about helping others to embark on their journey to their inner peace. Some years ago, I went on my own journey through therapy, which helped me to understand the process of counselling, and the value of being in a safe space with someone who showed me genuineness, acceptance, and empathy. My journey had many different roads, which lead me to becoming a qualified Counsellor.

I have spent many years of my career supporting and working with individuals who have been experiencing challenging circumstances, who have found themselves dealing with negative habits / addictions, self harm, relationship issues, and many other struggles as a result of a traumatic or difficult event in their past or present.

My goal is to offer clients a safe, warm, respectful and sometimes challenging environment, in which they can explore the issues that are important to them.

Background

I have worked professionally for many years with those affected by negative habits/ addictions, low self-esteem and destructive behaviour. I am experienced in working with those who are a survivors/ victims of trauma, sexual abuse and domestic violence.

I am also experienced with helping couples through communication issues and misunderstandings between each other. Mediation can enhance empathy and self-worth through learning how to rationalise and interpret our own, and others’ emotions, words and actions.

I believe that we can work out problems and anxieties, no matter how ‘stuck’ we feel, just through the simple act of being listened to without judgement. Counselling is a therapeutic relationship where we work together to explore the issues that you wish to understand and resolve.
